Sunday

I am going to take a small break from my Nebraska pics and show you my harvest from my garden today. I thinned my carrots and had the most beautiful purple, yellow, white and orange baby carrots. I am also loving the purple beans, they are so fun and taste delicious.
We also baked several loaves of blueberry banana breakfast bread!
I am going to freeze several of them, they make great last minute gifts.
Anyone else having a productive Sunday??

Nebraska: Day Three

Secret service investigating some crop circles.
Just kidding.
It's our rental car.
We decided to take a drive out to some farms.

Children of the corn! :o)
One would think my children had never seen corn before.
The kids were running through some poor farmers corn field like wild banshees.

Soy beans!

Nature center at Pioneer Park!

Reptiles and amphibians have a thing for Morgan!

Walking through a prairie at Pioneer park.
It was really really humid that day.
We were dying.

Cute old school house.

Even the Elk thought it was too hot.
Shortly after I snapped this pick they jumped in the pond.

A little turtle that we almost ran over.
I got out and saved it. (Of course)

A daily ritual for us!
It was hot, we had to eat lots of ice cream!

All of the Furrer's concur, this sign speaks the truth!
We indulged almost every day we were there.
Even when we were in Omaha.
The best soft serve in the whole world.

Lots of Furrer's cramed into one hotel room to watch the World Cup Finals!
Most of us didn't want to be photographed, except for the kids, of course.

Nebraska: Day Two

This is a BIG deal!
Memorial Stadium on the UN campus.
The sign above the gates reads
"Through These Gates Pass The Greatest Fans In College Football"

Wishing there was a game.

Serious fan!

Sunken Gardens
We loved the fact that it was beautiful and free!

Kids enjoying one of the koi ponds.

I loved this place.

Lunch stop!
Our second favorite Nebraskan restaurant.
We ate there twice.
I didn't have a salad.

Day One of Our Nebraska Trip

We are traveling to Lincoln, Nebraska where my husband was raised.
We were headed to celebrate his Grandparents 65th wedding anniversary!
It had been 9 years since our family has visited my hubbys home town.
The kids are ready to go!

This was Morgan and Averie's first time on an airplane!

Picture of the family crest on Matt's grandparents' mantle.

The house where Matt used to live when he was a child and now his grandparents live there.

Matt, Baylee and Grandma Winifred

Averie and her new cousin Gracie. The family resemblance is uncanny.

Lots of new girl Furrer cousins!
Gracie, Lola, Mckinley, Baylee, Gabriella, Morgan and Skyler.

The best pizza I have ever eaten!
I now understand my husbands obsession.

Our favorite Nebraskan restaurant!
We ate there 3 times.

Our first firefly sighting, across the street from the restaurant, on the UN campus.
Check out the tiny yellow dots.

Close up of a firefly that landed on Morgan's hand.

We had never seen fireflies before! (Besides Matt, of course) They are amazing creatures.

One landed on Averie!

We enjoyed a beautiful Nebraska evening.
